Does anybody have any experience with the agco centerline balers? We are currently running a Case IH SBX 520 and are getting a little fed up with it. The knotters are way to fussy.

Almost every time you swith balls of twine it will bake at least 2 bales and only on one side. Our dealer replaced part of the knotter under warranty but it didn't help much. The pickup belt also slips to easy if you get into any heavy hay or a mole hill it will slip. When we bought this baler our green dealer didn't want to talk to us so thats out of the question. Thats why i am interested in the hesston inlines. How uniform are the bales? How do they hold up?

Ours has baled about 100,000 bales so far. How do there throwers work? Any weak spots?

One thing i would really like is they are always in operating positon. Isn't any burrs on any knotter parts is their that catch on a hand tied knot while switch twine is there? I went over our 311 earlier this season, and last year it was nothing but a PITA. Ties like a dream and makes nice bales now. We were contemplating going to a inline as well, but after asking online and going to the field with acouple local mennonites who run them, I'm not as impressed as I was at first.

They weren't doing any better with them(1 miss tie in a 1000 or so) than we are with a old worn NH, but they did make nice bales.I'm really not crazy about the inline pickup though now either. Were going to run the NH awhile longer yet, then investigate further, but I know we'll look harder at a NH 575(Still believe NH is calling them that) than we were. Seems like most who really push the inline balers are running wire from my reading, and I imagine that changes the picture a good bit. I don't have much of a problem with the deere machine itself but the dealer doesn't seem interested.

A commercial version called Clubvan was added to the range in 2012. 2018 mini cooper clubman service manual.

We have tried 3 times to get them to work with us but every time they blow us off. When we bought our baler we said that we we going to buy a baler that week and we need to know what they would give us for trade and a year later they got back to us. We also wanted to trade our combine off and it took them a couple of months to come look at it and by then we had our 1440. Same thing with a disk.

Then when they stop by now they wonder why all of our green stuff is gone. Without them its 2 hours to the nearest dealer. I was also never impressed with their pan kickers anyway. Would we gain that much by going to an SBX 530 or 540? We go over this baler just like we did with our old 47 baler. We could bale a couple thousand bales without problems with that. We didn't see or feel any burs anywhere on these knotters.

Went from an old 37 to a CaseIH 8530 inline that I would guess has had 250,000 or more bales through it. Doesn't like huge windrows and green slugs will sheer the stuffer bolt.

However, I'll get from 250 bales/hr in really coarse grass to 500 bales/hr in 2nd cutting grass and alfalfa and maybe not msstie one in 500 or so with plastic twine. Might do better if I went to the heavier twine.

It's hard to make a 39' Alfalfa bale not weigh 70 lbs. Bales are absolute bricks. Best stacking bales I've ever handled. The 520 is the little baler, right? I bet you would see quite an improvement by moving up. I went to the CASEIH website and I see that the 520 is 79 spm and the 530/540 is 93. The Hesston 8530 is 100 spm and the 8520 is around 70.

Having been around an 8520, I can tell you there is a BUNCH of difference in those balers. We sell quite a bit of hay at a local auction and when people look at our hay the first thing they ask is what baler we have because the bales out of our Hesston 4590 are so solid. I don't know how a baler could make more consistant and solid bales than the inline but making good bales really starts with the rake. I don't know if the Hesston knotters are any better or worse than what NH uses but it sounds like there's something wrong with yours. I can't say that we've had any problems with the pickup on our baler but in really big dry windrows of grass hay sometimes it doesn't feed 100% perfect but it's far from being a problem. I do think that the inline balers are a much simpler machine than the side pull balers.

Most of the time the knots either have a partial loop or nothing at all it just cuts the twine. When we get ready to bale again i will try to get some pics. This is when the balls of twine switch right? A old Deere tech showed me how to tie twine balls together one time, here I was doing it wrong for years and didn't know it. My hand tied knot would get caught in the knotter ass'y and do what your describing. If this is happening at random it sure sounds like a rough area somewhere between the twine box and knotter stack tearing the twine. Are you using Sisal or plastic twine?

Repair

If Sisal, it may very well be poor quality twine. I finally gave up on twine on our round baler(we used to use it for silage bales). The twine would just come apart in the middle of the ball, sometimes multiple times, About every 10 bales you were off screwing with the twine. Might be time to switch to plastic. We got some junk 9000 twine that did the same.Often you'd pick up a baled bale and it would break. Not anywhere near the knot. Years ago on our old balers we often had better luck with 7200 I believe it was.Don't know why.

We switched to Donaghys plastic, 190 knott/ 10000 ft, has worked much better than the 7200 that we had been using. Diehardred what brand is the twine you are using. SUGAR MILL IT SAYS NEW HOLLAND ON THE BOX WE GET IT FROM OUR NH DEALER THE NICE THING ABOUT IT IS IT'S 6500FT PER ROLL SO WE CAN PUT 8 ROLLS IN THE NEW 348JD CAN BALE ALL DAY AND THEM SOME WITH OUT ADDING TWINE AND THE 240 KNOTT HELPS WITH THE HEAVY BALES THE STACKLINER NEEDS A HEAVY BALE TO WORK RITE Diehardred: Is it larger diameter if so did you have to adjust the knotters, or do they just change the plastic formula and leave the diameter alone. I thought it was nice to go from 7200 feet to 10000 feet going to 13000 would be nicer. Ps- Did you get the pic I sent you on your phone.

We are running 9000ft (i think) sisal twine. Nobody here likes plastic twine. I cant even think of anybody running it.

We run sisal twine in our round baler and have never had a problem. The twine seems like its ok. I can probably count on one hand the broken bales from bad twine. The thrower pretty much sorts them out. By the time they make it to the back of the 18' wagon its a good test for the twine. We made some adjustments on the knotters and hopefully we will be able to test it out tommarow.
