This is a really excellent fan (and light, if you choose to add it). It looks great, really pushes air, and is a good amount of light. I installed it in my living room, and though the blade design is really more of a porch style design (faux wicker-ish), it looks rather nice.
Knocked off one star for instrux/assembly/internal design, as it was a bit of an annoying assembly, mostly the physical part (electrical was pretty painless). I got lucky in that my existing light box was both metal and bolted into a beam, so I didn't need to add a brace, but the weight and shape of it is awkward. The internal design of the light is a pain, all the wires and connectors are packed tightly, but to get at the connector for the main base, you have to pull them all out, and once they're attached, getting them. Pros: - Silent operation: at low speed, you feel the breeze but no noise at all. Medium, noise is hardly noticeable.
At full speed, you get some noise. At this point (1 month use), I don't have the need to go to full speed at all. Simple installation (simple but you have to pay attention what you are doing). Did it myself.
Great looks. Every guest to my house has given a positive comment about the fan.
Dimmer works nicely. Not really cons: - Heavy, just be sure to get the base secured very well. The only thing I would really change about the fan is the lamp. It uses some kind of special halogen bulb. I would prefer a led-like, low consuming bulb.
But this is just a thought. The fan is really cool!
